2.BB. RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF OCTOBER\n1-7, 2023 AS BANNED BOOKS WEEK IN THE\nCITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD AND IN SUPPORT\nOF L.A. COUNTY’S DIGITAL LIBRARY CARD\nPILOT PROGRAM [J. ERICKSON, Y. QUARKER,\nH. MOLINA, J. DEL TORO, M. WATSON]:\nThe City Council will consider adopting a resolution\nrecognizing October 1st-7th, 2023 as Banned\nBooks Week in the City of West Hollywood and in\nsupport of the soon to be launched digital library\ncard pilot program, which would allow California\nteens and other residents to access the library’s\ndigital collections.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Adopt Resolution No.\n23-________ "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY\nCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD\nIN RECOGNITION OF OCTOBER 1-7, 2023 AS\nBANNED BOOKS WEEK AND IN SUPPORT OF\nL.A. COUNTY'S DIGITAL LIBRARY CARD PILOT\nPROGRAM"; 2) Direct staff to send copies of the\nadopted Resolution to the Los Angeles County\nBoard of Supervisors, to the Director of the Los\nAngeles County Library and to the West Hollywood\nLibrary Manager; and 3) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate communication\ntools, including, the City's website and social media\nchannels to promote Banned Books Week in the\nCity of West Hollywood.\nSTAFF REPORT
