2.M. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND INTIMATE\nPARTNER VIOLENCE AWARENESS\nMONTH [Y. QUARKER, H. MOLINA, L.\nFOOKS, D. RIVAS, C. SCHROEDER, C.\nPLANCK]:\nThe West Hollywood City Council will\nconsider recognizing October 2023 as\nDomestic Violence and Intimate Partner\nViolence Awareness Month.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Proclaim October\n2023 as Domestic Violence and Intimate\nPartner Violence Awareness Month; 2) Direct\nthe Public Works Department to light the\nCity's lanterns over Santa Monica Boulevard\nand City Hall in the color purple to recognize\nDomestic Violence and Intimate Partner\nViolence Awareness Month and "Purple\nThursday" from October 1-20, 2023; 3)\nAuthorize the use of the City name and logo\non digital collateral materials with partner\nagencies focused on domestic\nviolence/intimate partner violence issues and\nservices; and 4) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate\ncommunications tools to raise awareness\nabout Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner\nViolence Awareness Month, including sharing\nresources via social media platforms.\nSTAFF REPORT
