2.E. RECOGNITION OF DISABILITIES\nAWARENESS MONTH [C. SCHROEDER, C.\nPLANCK, M. ULLOA, D. SAUNDERS]:\nThe City Council will recognize October as\nDisabilities Awareness Month.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Proclaim October\nas Disabilities Awareness Month; 2) Authorize\nthe use of the City name and logo on\ninvitations, programs, and other collateral\nmaterials; 3) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate\ncommunications tools to promote Disability\nAwareness Month events including, but not\nlimited to, the City's website and social media\nplatforms; 4) Direct the Human Services\nDivision to oversee the installation of 45\nbanners along Santa Monica Boulevard that\nrecognize past recipients of the City's\nDisability Services Awards; 5) Approve the\nDisability Service Awards to be presented at a\ntelevised meeting of the Disabilities Advisory\nBoard on Wednesday, October 18, 2023; and\n6) Waive parking enforcement of the three-\nhour parking restrictions until 1pm at Plummer\nPark on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, for the\nCommunity Health & Wellness Event.\nSTAFF REPORT
