2.F. REQUEST FOR INDIVIDUAL LOCAL\nCULTURAL RESOURCE DESIGNATIONS\nFOR 7900 SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD\nAND 7906 SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD\n[N. MARICICH, J. ALKIRE, A. CASTILLO, T.\nGALINDO]:\nAt the request of the owner’s representative\nfor the property at 7900 Santa Monica\nBoulevard, on July 17, 2023, the City Council\ntabled the item to a date uncertain. The City\nCouncil will consider the Historic Preservation\nCommission’s recommendation to designate\ntwo abutting commercial buildings located at\n7900 Santa Monica Boulevard and 7906 Santa\nMonica Boulevard as individual local cultural\nresources. A cultural resource designation is\ncategorically exempt from the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to\nsection 15331 (Historic Resource\nRestoration/Rehabilitation) of CEQA\nGuidelines, which exempts projects that\npreserve historical resources in accordance\nwith the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.\nRECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that\nthe City Council adopt Resolution No. 23-\n_________: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY\nCOUNCIL OF THE CITY WEST HOLLYWOOD\nDESIGNATING THE BUILDINGS LOCATED\nAT 7900 SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD AND\n7906 SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD, WEST\nHOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA AS A LOCAL\nCULTURAL RESOURCES."\nSTAFF REPORT\nMEMO FROM STAFF 9.28.23
