7.e. CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 23-95,\nAPPROVING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO ELECNOR\nBELCO ELECTRIC, INC. FOR THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS\nAT VARIOUS SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS PROJECT (HSIPL5352(020))\nOn August 28, 2023, the Engineering Department solicited bids for the\nTraffic Signal Improvements at Various Intersections Project (HSIPL5352(020)). The work involves furnishing all labor, material, equipment,\nservices, and incidentals required for traffic signal placement, including the\ninstallation of conduits, pull boxes, signal heads, sensor units, pedestrian\npush buttons, traffic signal poles, traffic striping, hauling and disposal, and\ntraffic control throughout. The lowest responsive bid was submitted by\nElecnor Belco Electric, Inc. in the amount of $381,707.00.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Adopt and approve the plans and specifications for the Traffic Signal\nImprovements at Various Signalized Intersections Project (HSIPL5352(020));\n2. Review the bids and find that Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc. has\nsubmitted the lowest responsive bid;\n3. Adopt Resolution No. 23-95, awarding a construction contract to\nElecnor Belco Electric, Inc. in the amount of $381,707.00;\n4. Approve a 15% contingency amount of $57,256.05 for a total project\nconstruction budget amount not to exceed $438,963.05; and\n5. Authorize the City Manager or designee to negotiate and execute the\ncontract.
