12. AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE GRANT FUNDS FROM THE\nDEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)/FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY\n(FEMA) "STAFFING FOR ADEQUATE FIRE AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE" (SAFER) PROGRAM\nRECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Approve receipt of $5,650,875 in Federal funding awarded to the City by the Department of Homeland\nSecurity (DHS) / Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)/ Grant Programs Directorate\n(GPD) Fiscal Year 2022 "Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response" (SAFER) program; and\n2. Amend the Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget by increasing appropriations by $1,883,625 in Account Nos. 26985-860-5000.10 (SAFER-Fire, Fire, Suppression, Regular Salaries) and 269-99-4198.22 (SAFER-Fire,\nSAFER Grant Revenue); and\n3. Take such additional, related action that may be desirable.
