f. Staff recommends approval and passage of the following Resolutions:\n1. Resolution No. 23-06 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nLA VERNE, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THAT\nWEEDS, BRUSH, RUBBISH AND REFUSE UPON OR IN FRONT OF SPECIFIED\nPROPERTY IN THE CITY ARE A SEASONAL AND RECURRENT PUBLIC NUISANCE ,\nAND DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE ABATEMENT THEREOF -\nEach year, the County of Los Angeles Department of Agricultural Commissioner/Weights\n& Measures, conducts inspections for weeds, brush, rubbish, and refuse on public and\nprivate property that may be considered a seasonal and recurrent nuisance. A list of\nproperties is provided to the City for review. City Council is required to declare its intention\nto provide for this abatement and set a public hearing for affected property owners to\nregister objections to said abatement.\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 23-06, declaring the\nintention to provide for the abatement of weeds, brush, rubbish, and refuse, and\nsetting a public hearing for Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.\n2. Resolution No. 23-07 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nLA VERNE, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AN\nAGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF PASADENA FOR THE LA VERNE POLICE\nDEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FOR\nA TERM OF THREE (3) YEARS RELATING TO MAJOR EVENTS AT THE ROSE BOWL\n- The City of Pasadena approached the City of La Verne requesting to enter into a\ncontract to provide supplemental law enforcement functions relating to major events, such\nas the Rose Bowl, the Tournament of Roses Parade, and other events taking place at the\nRose Bowl Stadium in the City of Pasadena. This is the third extension of this agreement\nbetween the City of Pasadena and the City of La Verne.\nStaff recommends that the City Council approve Resolution No. 23-07, authorizing\nthe agreement between the City of La Verne and the City of Pasadena, for\nsupplemental law enforcement services for a term of three (3) years and authorize\nthe City Manager to execute the agreement.\n4
