a. INTRODUCTION OF AN ORDINANCE TO REDESIGN THE CITY SEAL\nSummary:\nThe City of Signal Hill was incorporated in April 1924. To recognize the City’s\nupcoming centennial milestone, the City Council formed the Centennial\nCelebration Committee (Committee) in January 2022. The Committee\ncollectively desired to propose a redesign of the current City seal. As such, staff\nis proposing a redesigned City seal for City Council consideration and\nintroduction of an Ordinance to effectuate the adoption of the new City seal as\nrequired by the Signal Hill Municipal Code (SHMC).\nRecommendations:\n1.) Review and approve the redesigned proposed City Seal; and,\n2.) Introduce an ordinance, entitled:\nAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL\nHILL, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 1.02.010 AND SECTION\n1.02.020 OF CHAPTER 1.02 OF THE SIGNAL HILL MUNICIPAL CODE\nRELATING TO THE CITY SEAL.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 5 High-Functioning Government: Strengthen internal communication,\nrecruitment, retention, systems, and processes to increase the\neffectiveness and efficiency of City services.
