County Code, Title 8 - Consumer Protection, Business and Wage\nRegulations Amendment\nOrdinance for adoption amending County Code, Title 8 - Consumer Protection,\nBusiness and Wage Regulations, Chapter 8.52 - Rent Stabilization and Tenant\nProtections, requiring that any tenant in the unincorporated areas of the County\npresented with a voluntary buyout agreement be offered an amount equal to or\ngreater than the relocation assistance amount a tenant would be entitled to\nunder a no-fault eviction, clarifying that tenants have an affirmative defense to\nan unlawful detainer action should a landlord fail to provide a copy of the notice\nof termination or eviction to the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs\nas required under Chapter 8.52, requiring that for any at-fault termination of\ntenancy, the termination notice set forth specific facts to permit a determination\nof the date, place, witnesses, and circumstances concerning the eviction\nreason, increasing the current 3% rental increase cap to 4% effective January\n1, 2024, and extending it through June 30, 2024; and providing additional\ntechnical or clarifying language as recommended by Department of Consumer\nand Business Affairs and County Counsel.
