9. Prioritizing Gender-Based Violence Prevention in Los Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Horvarth: Instruct the\nAuditor-Controller, in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer, to perform a\nperformance audit within 120 days of the Office of Violence Prevention,\nDepartment of Public Health to determine the following; and upon completion of\nthe performance audit, present the findings at an Audit Committee meeting, and\nsubsequently report back to the Board at a Board meeting:\nHow has the Office of Violence Prevention fulfilled its mission to date as\noriginally envisioned by the Board?\nHas the Board allocated adequate resources and/or authority to do the\nwork with which it was charged?\nHow has the Office of Violence Prevention integrated, uplifted, and led on\ngender-based violence prevention? Are these efforts informing\nprevention methodologies, as well as service delivery to survivors of\nviolence?\nWhat data/metrics are being used to define and measure their work and\nsuccess?\nAlso, instruct the Executive Officer of the Board, in coordination with the Chair\nof the Board’s staff, the Chief Executive Officer, and all relevant Departments,\nto establish and convene, starting in January 2024, and occurring on a\nbi-weekly basis (twice per month) a meeting of policy deputies from each Board\nOffice, as well as staff from appropriate Departments, to be known as the\nGender-Based Violence Prevention Board Deputies Meeting, to focus County\npolicy development and implementation, in partnership with the Office of\nViolence Prevention.
