6.D. ASSESSING THE RESILIENCY OF WEST\nHOLLYWOOD AS IT RELATES TO NATURE-\nBASED EVENTS [L. MEISTER, C. BYERS,\nY. QUARKER, H. MOLINA, M. WATSON]:\nThe City Council will consider directing staff to\nassess the City’s resiliency plans and\nprograms as climate change increasingly\nimpacts the City and the lives of its residents.\nIn addition, this item directs staff to report\nback to the City Council with\nrecommendations on how to address any\nidentified gaps and any resources required to\nfill those gaps.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff to\nconduct an evaluation of current plans and\nprograms aimed at increasing the City's\nresiliency related to nature-based events such\nas heat waves, high winds, rain\nevents/flooding, fires, etc., and report back to\nthe City Council within 120 days with the\nevaluation's findings; and 2) Direct staff to\ninclude in the report any identified gaps in\nplans and programs that would make the City\nmore resilient, recommended actions, and any\nneeded resources to meet those gaps.\nSTAFF REPORT
