2.U. RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL SLAVERY\nAND HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION\nMONTH [Y. QUARKER, H. MOLINA, L.\nFOOKS, T. RODZINEK, D. RIVAS]:\nThe City Council will consider approving the\nrecognition of the month of January as\nNational Slavery and Human Trafficking\nPrevention Month.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Proclaim January\n2024 as National Slavery and Human\nTrafficking Prevention Month; 2) Direct the\nPublic Works Department to light the City's\nlanterns over Santa Monica Boulevard and\nCity Hall in the color blue and white to\nrecognize National Slavery and Human\nTrafficking Prevention Month and National\nHuman Trafficking Awareness Day from\nJanuary 10 - January 20, 2024; 3) Authorize\nthe use of the City name and logo on digital\ncollateral materials with partner agencies\nfocused on human trafficking issues and\nservices; and 4) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate\ncommunications tools to promote National\nSlavery and Human Trafficking Prevention\nMonth, with a focus on sharing resources via\nsocial media platforms.\nSTAFF REPORT
