2.V. UPDATE REGARDING THE CO-\nSPONSORSHIP OF THE ANNUAL ELTON\nJOHN AIDS FOUNDATION OSCAR EVENT\n[Y. QUARKER, C. SMITH, M. REATH, B.\nSMITH]:\nThe City Council will consider requests from\nElton John AIDS Foundation related to the\nCity’s co-sponsorship of their annual Oscars\nViewing Party, a charity fundraiser, to be held\non Sunday, March 10, 2024, in West\nHollywood Park.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Approve the\nexclusive use of the Basketball Court Area,\nGreat Lawn Area, Robertson Commons Area,\nand portions of the South Lawn Area of West\nHollywood Park, beginning Wednesday,\nFebruary 28, 2024, through Thursday, March\n14, 2024; 2) Approve the closure of San\nVicente Boulevard between Melrose Avenue\nand Santa Monica Boulevard for event arrivals\nand departures from noon on Sunday, March\n10, 2024, through 5:00 A.M. on Monday,\nMarch 11, 2024; 3) Approve the use of the\nCommunity Meeting Room (CMR) from Friday,\nMarch 8, 2024, through Monday, March 11,\n2024; 4) Approve exclusive use of the Five-\nStory Parking Structure (5SPS) from 5:00 A.M.\non Sunday, March 10, 2024, through 5:00 A.M.\nreduced parking rate of $6 per vehicle in the\nFive Story Parking Structure (5SPS) for\nproduction staff, and crew parking on the\nfollowing dates: February 29 - March 2 and\nMarch 7 - March 9; 6) Approve a City of West\nHollywood Permit to Use City Property\nAgreement with Elton John AIDS Foundation\nthat defines facility uses, street closures, and\nterms of the relationship between the City and\nthe Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar\nViewing Party and Charity Fundraiser; and 7)\nAuthorize the City Manager of his designee to\napprove minor changes to the terms outlined\nin the Permit to Use City Property Agreement.\nSTAFF REPORT\n3.
