5. PURCHASE OF POLICE EQUIPMENT\nThe Police Department needs to purchase and replace out-of-date duty handguns and rifles used\nby patrol officers and the Special Operations Team (SOT). The current duty handguns are over ten\nyears old and the rifles are over 15 years old. The industry standard is to replace this equipment\nevery five years.\nRecommendation:\nIt is staff's recommendation that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution approving an\nagreement with Proforce Marketing, Inc. dba Proforce Law Enforcement to purchase and replace\nduty handgun and rifles.\nDISCUSSION (Items No. 6-8)
