18. Accept and Implement Forthcoming Award from the Centers for Disease\nControl and Prevention and Future Awards\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Public Health to accept and\nimplement a forthcoming award from the Centers for Disease Control and\nPrevention (CDC), to support the Emerging Infections Program, for the period\nof January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2028, at an estimated amount not to\nexceed $7,570,069 annually; accept future award(s) and/or amendment(s) that\nare consistent with the requirements of the CDC award that extend the funding\nperiods at amounts determined by the CDC, and/or an increase or decrease in\nfunding; and accept future amendments that are consistent with the\nrequirements of the CDC award that reflect non-material and/or ministerial\nrevisions to the award’s terms and conditions, and allow for the rollover of\nunspent funds and/or redirection of funds.
