17. Accept and Implement Notice of Award from the Centers for Disease\nControl and Prevention and Future Awards\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Public Health to accept and\nimplement an award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\n(CDC), in the amount of $3,217,500, for the budget period of September 1,\n2023 through August 31, 2024, for the Overdose Data to Action, Limiting\nOverdose Through Collaborative Actions in Localities Project; and authorize the\nDirector to take the following actions: (Department of Public Health)\nAPPROVE\nAccept grants or awards from Substance Abuse and Mental Health\nServices Administration and/or other Federal, State or local entities, that\nprovide additional support for substance use disorder prevention and\nharm reduction objectives;\nAccept future award(s) and/or amendment(s) that are consistent with the\nrequirements of the CDC award, and/or the grants and awards that\nextend the funding period at amounts to be determined by the funder,\nallow for the rollover of unspent funds, and/or provide an increase or\ndecrease in funding; and\nAccept future amendments that are consistent with the requirements of\nthe CDC award, and the grants and awards that allow changes to the\nbudget where there is no net change in funding, to provide administrative\nchanges, or changes that reflect non-material or ministerial revisions to\nthe terms and conditions.
