43. Whittier Boulevard Enhanced Maintenance Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that enhanced maintenance services can be performed\nmore economically by an independent contractor; award and instruct the Chair\nto sign a contract with Woods Maintenance Services, Inc., a Local Small\nBusiness Enterprise, for Whittier Boulevard enhanced maintenance services in\nthe unincorporated County communities of East Los Angeles (1), for a\none-year term, with three one-year and up to six month-to-month extension\noptions, for a maximum potential contract term of 54 months and a maximum\npotential contract amount of $2,954,952; find that the contract work is exempt\nfrom the California Environmental Quality Act; and authorize the Director of\nPublic Works to take the following actions: (Department of Public Works)\nAPPROVE (Continued from the meeting of 1-9-24)\nRenew the contract for each extension option if, in the opinion of the\nDirector, Woods Maintenance Services, Inc. has successfully performed\nduring the previous contract period, and services are still required;\nexecute amendments to incorporate necessary changes within the scope\nof work, and suspend work if it is in the best interest of the County to do\nso; and\nAnnually increase the contract amount up to an additional 10% of the\nannual contract amount, which is included in the maximum potential\ncontract amount for unforeseen additional work within the scope of the\ncontract, if required.
