39. Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases Grant\nAward\nRecommendation: Authorize and instruct the Director of Public Health to accept\na grant award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),\nAssistance Listing Number 93.323, that approves a no-cost extension through\nJuly 31, 2026, for the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) for\nPrevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Disease cooperative agreement\nto address emerging infectious disease threats; authorize the Director of Public\nHealth to accept a forthcoming grant award from the CDC for the period of\nAugust 1, 2024 through July 31, 2029, at amounts to be determined by the\nCDC, for the ELC for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Disease\ncooperative agreement to address emerging infectious diseases and the Chief\nExecutive Officer; and take the following actions: (Department of Public\nHealth) APPROVE\nAccept future funding awards for ELC for Prevention and Control of\nEmerging Infectious Diseases that may be issued as new or\nsupplemental awards in the event of emerging infectious disease\noutbreaks, for the period of August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2029, at\namounts to be determined by the CDC;\nAccept future awards and/or amendments that are consistent with the\nrequirements of the CDC awards as referenced above, that extend the\nfunding periods at amounts to be determined by the CDC, allow for\nno-cost extensions, and/or provide an increase or decrease in funding;\nand\nAccept future amendments that are consistent with the requirements of\nthe CDC awards referenced above that reflect nonmaterial and/or\nministerial revisions to the award’s terms and conditions, and allow for\nthe rollover of unspent funds and/or redirection of funds.
