15. Proclaiming February 2024 as “Protected Leave Programs Awareness\nMonth”\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Hahn: Proclaim the month of\nFebruary 2024 as “Protected Leave Programs Awareness Month” throughout\nLos Angeles County; instruct the Director of Personnel to continue to advance\nawareness, education, and advocacy efforts related to protected leave policies\nand other family-friendly leave policies for employees and their supervisors\nCountywide, and hold the Annual Protected Leaves Symposium during the\nProtected Leave Programs Awareness Month to build capacity and training for\nProtected Leave Coordinators Countywide; instruct all Department Heads to join\nthe effort to educate their employees, supervisors, and managers on the\nbenefits of protected leave programs and how to access these leaves when\nneeded; and encourage managers and supervisors Countywide to learn about\nthe protected leave programs available to County employees under the law, and\nensure that they understand their obligations under the law to assist their\nemployees to access and utilize these benefits, when needed.
