13. March of Dimes and "Creating Greater Communities" - Workplace\nCharitable Giving Campaign 2024\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Horvath: In support of Board\nPolicy No. 3.010 - Workplace Charitable Giving Standard, approve and support\nthe "Creating Greater Communities" Workplace Charitable Giving 2024 and the\nMarch of Dimes 2024 Campaigns; encourage those employees who can, to\nbegin donating to these worthy causes through voluntary payroll deduction, and\nfor those who already give, to consider an increase to their existing\ncontribution; request that all Department Heads and their designated March of\nDimes and Charitable Giving Coordinator(s) oversee Departmental efforts to\nsupport the March of Dimes and Charitable Giving Campaigns consistent with\nBoard Policy No. 3.010 - Workplace Charitable Giving Standard; authorize the\nDirector of Personnel to provide the necessary support services and\npromotional items for the 2024 Charitable Giving and March of Dimes\ncampaigns; and proclaim the following:\nJuly 17 and 18, 2024; August 21 and 22, 2024; September 18 and 19,\n2024; October 16 and 17, 2024; November 20 and 21, 2024; and\nDecember 18 and 19, 2024, as "Blue Jeans for Giving" days throughout\nLos Angeles County in support of the 2024 Workplace Charitable Giving\nCampaign;\nMay 18, 2024 as the "County of Los Angeles March of Dimes Day" in\nrecognition of the Annual "March for Babies" walk to be held in Grand\nPark; and\nFebruary 21 and 22, 2024; March 20 and 21, 2024; April 17 and 18,\n2024; May 15 and 16, 2024; and June 19 and 20, 2024, as "Blue Jeans\nfor Babies" Days throughout Los Angeles County in support of the 2024\nMarch of Dimes campaign.
