44. Street Sweeping Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that the street sweeping services can be more\neconomically performed by an independent contractor; award and instruct the\nChair to execute contracts with Athens Services and CleanStreet, LLC, for\nstreet sweeping services in the unincorporated County area as detailed below\n(1 and 5), for a period of one year, with three one year renewal options and a\nmonth-to-month extension up to six months, for a maximum potential contract\nterm of 54 months, commencing May 1, 2024; authorize the Director of Public\nWorks to renew the contracts for each additional renewal option and extension\nperiod if, in the opinion of the Director, the contractors have successfully\nperformed during the previous contract periods and the services are still\nrequired; approve and execute amendments to incorporate necessary changes\nwithin the scope of work, and suspend work if it is in the best interest of the\nCounty to do so, annually increase the contracts amounts up to an additional\n10% of the annual contracts amount, which is included in the maximum potential\ncontracts sums for unforeseen additional work within the scope of the contracts\nif required, and adjust the annual contract totals for each option year over the\nterm of the contracts to allow for disposal and fuel adjustments cost in\naccordance with each of the contracts; and find that the contract work is\nexempt from the California Environmental Quality Act: (Department of Public\nWorks) APPROVE\nWith Athens Services for the area of Rowland Heights, for a maximum\npotential contract amount of $4,158,156;\nWith Athens Services for unincorporated areas of Arcadia, Duarte, east\nPasadena, Monrovia, northeast San Gabriel, Pasqual, and south San\nGabriel, for a maximum potential contract amount of $4,176,079; and\nWith Cleanstreet, LLC for the unincorporated areas of Azusa, Covina\nand Claremont, for a maximum potential contract amount of $4,878,700.\n(24-0251)
