11. FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.12.010 OF THE\nLA VERNE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING CITY COUNCIL SALARIES - The\nCalifornia Government Code provides that a City Council may enact an ordinance\nproviding that each member of the City Council shall receive a salary and Senate Bill 329\n(SB 329) increases the maximum threshold for council member compensation. During the\nJanuary 16, 2024, City Council Meeting, the City Council directed staff to increase Council\nMember salaries to $950 per month.\nRECOMMENDATION: that the La Verne City Council introduce by title only, and waive\nfurther reading of Ordinance No. 24-XX, entitled “AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY\nCOUNCIL, CITY OF LA VERNE, CALIFORNIA, ADJUSTING SALARIES FOR THE\nMAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND AMENDING CHAPTER 2.12.010\nOF THE LA VERNE MUNICIPAL CODE.”
