30. Fire Department Seven-Year Lease Amendment\nRecommendation: Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute a proposed\nlease amendment with Thrifty Oil Co., a California corporation, for the Fire\nDepartment’s Fire prevention Bureau’s Health Hazardous Materials, Plan Check\nUnit, and Petro Chemical Unit’s continued use of approximately 7,422 sq ft of\noffice space and 30 on-site parking spaces located at 5200 Irwindale Avenue,\nSuites 205 and 210 in Irwindale (1), the estimated maximum first year base\nrental amount is $170,000, the estimated total proposed lease amendment\namount is $1,297,000 over the seven-year term, the rental costs will be 100%\nfunded by the Department, a special district that is funded independently from\nthe County’s General Fund, the Department relies primarily on property tax\nrevenue to provide essential fire protection and emergency medical services,\nand the proposed rental costs have been accounted for in the existing budget,\nthe Department will not be requesting additional Net County Cost; authorize the\nChief Executive Officer to execute any other ancillary documentation necessary\nto effectuate the proposed lease amendment, and take actions necessary and\nappropriate to implement the proposed lease amendment including, without\nlimitation, exercising any early termination rights, and option to extend; and find\nthat the proposed lease amendment is exempt from the California Environmental\nQuality Act.
