20. Preventing Homelessness Among Survivors of Domestic Violence\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis and Horvath: Instruct the\nDirector of Public Health, through its Office of Women’s Health, Office of\nViolence Prevention, and Domestic Violence Housing and Support Services,\nand in partnership with the Executive Director of the Homeless Initiative, Chief\nExecutive Office, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Los Angeles Homeless\nServices Authority, and community and faith-based organizations that serve\nIntimate Partner Violence (IPV) survivors, such as the Downtown Women’s\nCenter, to report back to the Board in writing in 90 days after receiving\nfeedback from the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Deputy Meeting with the\nfollowing:\nAn assessment of efforts being utilized and the resources available to\nserve domestic violence survivors to prevent them from becoming\nhomeless;\nA gap analysis indicating what resources are lacking for prevention of\nhomelessness among IPV survivors and resources for those that do fall\ninto homelessness, and should consider geographic and language\nneeds, available domestic violence shelters and whether they are\nsufficient to meet the existing needs of survivors, and the availability of\nhousing for survivors to have a path out of shelters; and\nRecommendations for the Board’s consideration to improve the system of\nprevention for IPV survivors, and to better serve IPV survivors who are\nunhoused after receiving feedback from the Gender-Based Violence\nPrevention Deputy Meeting.
