13. Report Back on Homeless Prevention Programs and Resources for\nTransitional Age Youth and Older Adults\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Barger and Mitchell: Instruct the\nExecutive Director of the Homeless Initiative, Chief Executive Office, in\ncollaboration with the Directors of Children and Family Services, Public Social\nServices, Aging and Disabilities, Health Services and Consumer and Business\nAffairs, the Chief Executive Officer of the Los Angeles Homeless Services\nAuthority, and other relevant County Department Heads and agencies, to take\nthe following actions:\nReport back to the Board in writing within 120 days with an analysis on\ncurrent homeless prevention strategies and programs serving older adults\nand transition age youth within the County, with the report to include the\nfollowing:\nDesired program outcomes, including client outcome data by\nprograms for older adults and transition age youth;\nCoordination among inter-Departmental and agency programs\naimed to achieve alignment and amplification of mainstream and\nhomeless response system resources to prevent homelessness;\nFuture efforts to scale up homeless prevention efforts efficiently\nand effectively Countywide, with demonstrable improved client\noutcomes in Fiscal Year 2023-24;\nRecommendations designed to swiftly target and enhance\nhomeless prevention support for older adults and transitional age\nyouth populations within the County; and\nInput from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s Lived\nExperience Advisory Board and the Homeless Youth Forum of Los\nAngeles, on any enhancements or gaps in current prevention\nprogramming serving older adults and transition age youth; and\nWork with the Board-established Prevention and Promotion Systems\nGoverning Committee to prepare a live presentation focused on the\nhomelessness and housing domain that will be brought before the Board\nby June 4, 2024, and should include a timeline and action plan for short-\nand long-term solutions through prevention-based programs and\nresources.
