17. Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes 2024\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Barger: Instruct all County\nDepartment Heads to support the 2024 American Diabetes Association Step\nOut SoCal Walk Event (Event) by registering and supporting fundraising efforts;\ninstruct all Department Public Information Officers to promote and distribute\nmaterials related to the Event; instruct all Department wellness coordinators to\npromote the Event and encourage colleagues to participate and support;\ninstruct the Auditor-Controller to publicize the Event on the August 15, 2024\npaycheck run and encourage active employee participation; and proclaim the\nmonth of November 2024 as “Los Angeles County Step Out Walk to Stop\nDiabetes Month” in support of the Event, which encourages all employees to live\na healthier lifestyle and successfully manage diabetes and reduce the risk for\ndeveloping diabetes.
