Acquiring Personal Protective Equipment and Work Uniforms for Women\nFirefighters and Lifeguards\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Hahn: Instruct the Fire Chief, in\ncollaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, and the Women’s Fire League, to\nreport back to the Board in writing in 60 days on a plan to purchase Personal\nProtective Equipment (PPE) and work uniforms specific for women firefighters\nand lifeguards, including a cost analysis for various types of PPE and uniforms,\nincluding turnout coats and pants for structural firefighting and wildland PPE for\nfemale firefighters, and work uniforms worn by women lifeguards and\nfirefighters responding to Emergency Medical Services calls, including an\nidentification of funding and a plan to collaborate with the National Fire\nProtection Association to work with manufacturers to obtain female-specific\nPPE and work uniforms.
