18. AUTHORIZE RFP: CONTRACT OPERATIONS OF ALHAMBRA COMMUNITY\nTRANSIT AND SENIOR RIDE – F2M24-30, RFP2M24-6\nThe City has provided contracted Senior Ride paratransit operations since 1987.\nAlhambra Community Transit (ACT) has been a contracted fixed-route transit system\nsince October 1995. The contract with the current operator expires June 30, 2024. The\nRFP will be for one 5-year term with the option for one 5-year extension should the service\nprovided be satisfactory. Prospective operators will provide drivers for the Senior Ride and\nACT buses. The contractor will also be responsible for all bus/vehicle fleet maintenance\nand operational issues concerning the Senior Ride and ACT schedules. The City is\nresponsible for providing vehicles and fuel for both transportation systems.\n8\n2-26-24\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize staff to distribute a Request for\nProposals for Contract Operations of Alhambra Community Transit and Senior Ride\ncommencing July 1, 2024; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize\nthe Council’s action.
