20. AWARD CONTRACT: ALL-INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FOR GRANADA\nAND ALHAMBRA PARKS – F2M24-32, C2M24-13, M2M24-35\nThe 2023-2024 fiscal year budget included the replacement of existing playground\nequipment. As such, staff is seeking to purchase all-inclusive playground equipment\nthrough a cooperative purchase agreement. Cooperative purchase is allowable per\nAlhambra Municipal Code 3.35.080(B)(3). On September 25, 2023, Sourcewell opened\nbids for the procurement of Playground and Water Play Equipment with Related\nAccessories and Services. Sourcewell awarded contract #010521-LSI to Landscape\nImages Inc. on September 25, 2023 – a contract that does not expire until February 17,\n2025. The Sourcewell specifications included an option of purchasing playground\nequipment with related accessories and services; therefore, staff recommends purchasing\nthe equipment.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Landscape Structures, Inc. in an\namount not to exceed $1,199,999.49 for the purchase and installation of all-inclusive\nplayground equipment at Granada Park and Alhambra Park; direct the Finance Director\nto appropriate $1,199,999.49 in expenditures and revenues from the Los Angeles County\nRegional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD) under the Measure A Annual Allocation\nGrant Program for the equipment; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to\nfinalize Council’s action.
