12. AUTHORIZE RFP: PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE\nBURKE HERITAGE PARK AND MARENGO YARD STORMWATER CAPTURE\nPROJECT – F2M21-63, RFP2M24-5\nThe Burke Heritage Park and Marengo Yard Stormwater Capture Project is identified as\na priority concept in the Stormwater Master Plan. A feasibility study was completed in\norder to prepare the project for the design phase. The City has received full funding for\ndesign and construction through the Safe Clean Water Regional Program. The project will\nprovide reduced stormwater runoff volumes and pollutant loads to receiving waters. The\nprimary treatment best management practices (BMPs) will include dry wells, seasonal\nbioswale wetlands, and bioretention basins as well as Park and City facility improvements.\nIn addition to the stormwater-related goals, the City is pursuing the Project with the added\ngoals of maximizing community benefits under a Statewide Park Programs Grant and a\nState Grant Allocation through Mike Fong for new recreation opportunities, increasing the\ntree canopy, enhancing park space, and designing the Project with community-based\ninput.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize the distribution of a Request for\nProposals to qualified firms for Professional Engineering Design Services for the Burke\nHeritage Park and Marengo Yard Stormwater Capture Project.
