3. SAN GABRIEL VALLEY COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS TRANSIT FEASIBILITY\nSTUDY – F2M24-16\nThe San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) has been conducting a\n2\n2-26-24\nTransit Feasibility Study for the San Gabriel Valley, in response to the Metro Board's\ndecision in 2020 to withdraw the SR 60 alternative for the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase\n2 project to extend the Metro E Line (formerly the L and Gold). The purpose of the study\nhas been to evaluate and enhance mobility and improve public transit in the region, with\nparticular focus on serving the communities impacted from the project’s withdrawal. Ricky\nChoi, Director of Government and Community Relations for the SGVCOG, and Roy Choi,\nManager of Transportation, will provide a brief overview of the study and its status,\nincluding a summary of the remaining conceptual alternatives and how they benefit\neast/west and north south travel within the San Gabriel Valley through a mix of bus-only\nbus rapid transit (BRT) lanes and mixed-flow lanes. Additionally, SGVCOG staff will\ndiscuss considerations studied for that portion of Valley Blvd. within Alhambra.\nRecommended Action: City Council receive and file this informational report.
