AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE FY 2022/23 CITYWIDE\nSTREET RESURFACING PROJECT (TASK CODE 2023-101)\nSix bids for the FY 2022/23 Citywide Street Resurfacing Project were opened on\nFebruary 13, 2024. Based on the post-bid analysis of the bids received, staff has\ndetermined the bid submitted by Onyx Paving Company, Inc. to be the lowest\nresponsible and responsive bid at $1,151,000.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council declare that this project is exempt from the California Environmental\nQuality Act (“CEQA”), Class 1, Section 15301(c) as repair, maintenance, and minor\nalteration of existing public structures; and\n2. Award a construction contract for the FY 2022/23 Citywide Street Resurfacing\nProject to Onyx Paving Company, Inc. for the bid amount of $1,151,000.00 and\nreject all other bids; and\n3. Authorize the City Manager to bind the City of Stanton and Onyx Paving Company,\nInc. in a contract for the construction; and\n4. Authorize the City Manager to approve contract changes, not to exceed 10-percent\nof the bid amount ($115,100).\nFebruary 27, 2024
