33. 2021 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Memorandum of\nUnderstanding\nRecommendation: Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute a\nMemorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Los Angeles (City) to\njointly accept funds from the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of\nJustice Assistance for the 2021 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance\nGrant (JAG) Program in the total amount of $2,692,835, whereby the County\nwill receive $1,211,776, which is half of the total grant amount less a 10%\nreduction of $134,642 to cover the City’s administrative costs, as outlined in the\nMOU; authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute, on behalf of the County,\nany contracts and actions necessary to amend, create, or extend any programs\nfunded by this grant in order to achieve the goals of the JAG Program; approve\nthe 2021 JAG Program budget in the amount of $1,211,776 in order to continue\nfunding various crime prevention, courtroom diversion, and community support\nprograms across the County.
