County of Los\nAngeles, et al.\nLos Angeles County Claims Board's recommendation: Authorize settlement of\nthe matter entitled, Niani Shabazz, et al. v. County of Los Angeles, et al., United\nStates District Court Case No. 2:21-CV-06111, in the amount of $275,000, and\ninstruct the Auditor-Controller to draw a warrant to implement this settlement\nfrom the Sheriff's Department's budget.\nThis wrongful death and civil rights lawsuit against the Sheriff's Department\narises from a fatal deputy-involved shooting.
