15. Addressing Fire Insurance Challenges Impacting Homeowners\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Barger: Direct the Chief\nExecutive Officer, through the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental\nRelations Branch, to support legislation that will further stabilize California’s fire\ninsurance market and enhance protections for homeowners; and direct the\nChief Executive Officer, in consultation with the Fire Chief, to send a\nfive-signature letter to the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection\nrequesting they consider input from local fire agencies when determining their\nimplementation plan for Assembly Bill 3074, legislation which mandates the\nremoval of flammable materials within a five-foot radius of any structure, and\nsend a five-signature letter to State Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara,\nrequesting he investigate the compliance measures insurance companies are\nrequiring from homeowners to keep their coverage.
