7.f. CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 24-133,\nAPPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AWARDING\nCONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO JJJ FLOOR COVERINGS, INC. FOR\nTHE SENIOR CENTER FLOORING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT\nOn January 10, 2024, the Engineering Department solicited bids for the\nSenior Center Flooring Improvements Project. The bid opening date was\nFebruary 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM. The scope of work includes but not limited\nto the removal and disposal of existing flooring and installation of new vinyl\nflooring. The lowest responsive bid was submitted by JJJ Floor Coverings,\nInc. in the amount of $39,158.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Review the bids and find that JJJ Floor Coverings, Inc. has submitted\nthe lowest responsive bid;\n2. Adopt Resolution No. 24-133, approving plans and specifications for\nthe Senior Center Flooring Improvements Project and awarding a\ncontract to JJJ Floor Coverings, Inc. in the amount of $39,158 and the\nadditive alternate project scope of $2,103.48 for a combined grand\ntotal of $41,261.48;\n3. Approve a 15% contingency amount of $6,189.22 for a total project\nconstruction budget amount not to exceed $47,450.70; and\n4. Authorize the City Manager or designee to negotiate and execute the\nagreement.
