Public Nuisance Abatement: Declaration of Public Nuisance for a\nSubstandard Property located at 1347 Wesleyan Avenue (APN: 8712-015-\n017)\nRecommendation: That the City Council:\n1. Open the Public Hearing;\n2. Hear the Staff Report;\n3. Solicit public input on this item;\n4. City Council Discussion;\n5. Close the Public Hearing;\n6. Adopt Resolution No. 24-13 and declare the following property as a Public\nNuisance: 1347 Wesleyan Ave (APN: 8712-015-017); and\n7. Authorize Staff to begin the “Public Nuisance Abatement” process, as\nprescribed in Walnut Municipal (WMC) Chapter 3.36 (Nuisance).\nCOUNCIL CONSENT CALENDAR: The Consent Calendar items listed below are\nconsidered and acted upon under one motion unless an individual item or items are removed by a\nCouncilmember for further consideration or explanation.\nThere will be no dialogue/debate unless a Council Member requests otherwise on the following\nmatters:\n3. Resolution No. 24-14 - A Resolution of the City of Walnut Allowing Certain\nClaims and Demands in the Amount of $1,230,771.42 Demand No. 167936\nthrough No. 168021, Both Inclusive\nRecommendation: That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 24-14.\n4. Resolution No. 24-15 - Directing the Preparation of the Engineer’s Report\nand Filing of Report for Fiscal Year 2024-25 Lighting and Open Space\nMaintenance District No. 1 (LOSMD) Assessments and Setting the Time and\nPlace for a Public Meeting and Public Hearing\nRecommendation: That the City Council:\n1. Adopt Resolution No. 24-15, initiating proceedings for the levy and collection\nof assessments within the Lighting and Open Space Maintenance District\n(LOSMD) No. 1 for Fiscal Year 2024-25 and ordering the Engineer to prepare\na report in connection therewith;\n2. Direct staff to hold an informal Community Meeting on Monday, March 25,\n2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Walnut City Council Chambers;\n3. Direct staff to set the time and place for the Public Hearing on the matter of\nlevying assessments for Fiscal Year 2024-25 LOSMD assessments at the City\nCouncil Meeting on May 8, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.; and\n4. Direct staff to provide notice of the public meetings and Public Hearing in\naccordance with the law.\n5. Resolution No. 24-16 - Approving a List of Projects for Fiscal Year 2024-25\nFunded by Senate Bill (SB) 1: Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation\nAccount Funds (RMRA)\nRecommendation: That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 24-16,\napproving the Fiscal Year 2024-25 SB 1 RMRA Project List.
