2.Q. A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER AS\nHOLODOMOR MEMORIAL MONTH IN WEST HOLLYWOOD\nAND THE FOURTH SATURDAY OF EVERY NOVEMBER AS\nHOLODOMOR MEMORIAL DAY [Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, H.\nMOLINA, T. RODZINEK]:\nThe City Council will consider adopting a resolution to formally\nrecognize the month of November as Holodomor Memorial Month\nin West Hollywood, and the fourth Saturday of November, annually\nthereafter, as Holodomor Memorial Day.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Adopt Resolution No. 24-________ "A\nRESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST\nHOLLYWOOD DECLARING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER AS\nHOLODOMOR MEMORIAL MONTH, AND THE FOURTH\nSATURDAY OF NOVEMBER, ANNUALLY THEREAFTER, AS\nHOLODOMOR MEMORIAL DAY"; 2) Direct Community &\nLegislative Affairs (CLA) staff to send a copy of the adopted\nresolution to President Joseph R. Biden, and copies of that letter to\nU.S. Senators Alex Padilla and Laphonza Butler, U.S.\nRepresentative Adam Schiff, State Senator Ben Allen, and\nAssemblymember Rick Chavez-Zbur; 3) Direct CLA staff to post\ninformation on the City's web page about the atrocities of the\nHolodomor; and 4) Direct the Communications Department staff to\nissue a press release containing historical information about the\ntragic famine of Holodomor.\nSTAFF REPORT\n3.
