6.D. 2024 LESBIAN AND QUEER WOMEN’S VISIBILITY WEEK [S.\nSHYNE, C. BYERS, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO, M.\nMÁRQUEZ]:\nThe City Council will consider a set of recommendations to provide\nfunding for specific programming for Lesbian and Queer Women’s\nVisibility Week, which runs from Monday, April 22 through Sunday,\nApril 28, 2024.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Proclaim April 22 through April 28, 2024\nas Lesbian and Queer Women's Visibility Week in the City of West\nHollywood; 2) Direct staff to organize activities for the week and\ncollaborate with community partners and organizations and with the\nCity's LGBTQ+ Commission; 3) Direct staff to take additional\nactions to recognize Lesbian and Queer Woman's Visibility Week,\nincluding, but not limited to, illuminating City Hall with the colors\nassociated with the lesbian flag colors, programming the lanterns\non Santa Monica Boulevard with the colors of the lesbian flag, and\nflying the lesbian flag at public facilities as space permits; and 4)\nDirect the Communications Department to utilize all appropriate\ncommunication tools to promote the activities associate with\nLesbian and Queer Women's Visibility Week including, but not\nlimited to, the City's Website, a press release, and social media\ntools.\nSTAFF REPORT
