AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nWEST HOLLYWOOD AMENDING CHAPTERS 9.60 (PUBLIC\nNUISANCES), 9.64 (VACANT PROPERTIES), AND 9.70\n(CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT) OF THE WEST\nHOLLYWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE TO ENHANCE SECURITY ON\nPROPERTIES AND PROVIDING AN UPDATE ON THE WEST\nHOLLYWOOD VACANT PROPERTY PROGRAM [D. ALPER]:\nThe City Council will receive an update on the progress of the West\nHollywood Vacant Property Program and consider adopting an\nordinance that amends the public nuisances, vacant property, and\nconstruction management ordinances to enhance standards that\npromote the continued maintenance and security of properties\nlocated in the City of West Hollywood.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Introduce on first reading Ordinance No.\n24-________ "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE\nCITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD AMENDING CHAPTERS 9.60\n(PUBLIC NUISANCES), 9.64 (VACANT PROPERTIES), AND 9.70\n(CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT) OF THE WEST HOLLYWOOD\nMUNICIPAL CODE TO ENHANCE SECURITY ON PROPERTIES;"\n2) Receive an update on the West Hollywood Vacant Property\nProgram; and 3) Direct staff to work with the City Attorney's Office\nto explore amending the West Hollywood Municipal Code to\nestablish an alternate mechanism to authorize/require demolition\nfor problematic/failed vacant property buildings based on public\nsafety impacts.\nSTAFF REPORT\nITEM 4.A. - ATTACHMENT A\nITEM 4.A. - ATTACHMENT B\nPUBLIC CORRESPONDENCE - 3.15.24
