46. Armed and Unarmed Security Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that armed and unarmed security services can be\nperformed more economically by an independent contractor; award and instruct\nthe Chair to sign a contract with Patrol Solutions, LLC for the provision of\narmed and unarmed security services at the Department of Public Works\nHeadquarters complex, for a term of one year, with three one-year and up to six\nmonth-to-month extension options, for a maximum potential contract term of 54\nmonths and a maximum potential contract amount of $8,656,355, with funding\nincluded in the Internal Services Fund, B04 - Services and Supplies, Fiscal\nYear 2023-24 Budget, and funds to finance the extension options and 10%\nadditional funding for contingencies to be requested through the annual budget\nprocess; find that the contract work is not a project under the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act; and authorize the Director of Public Works to take\nthe following actions: (Department of Public Works) APPROVE\nExercise the extension options if, in the opinion of the Director, Patrol\nSolutions, LLC has successfully performed during the previous contract\nperiod and the services are still required; approve and execute\namendments to incorporate necessary changes within the scope of work,\nand suspend work if, it is in the best interest of the County; and\nAnnually increase the contract amount up to an additional 10% of the\nannual contract amount, which is included in the maximum potential\ncontract amount for unforeseen additional work within the scope of the\ncontract, if required.
