Item 50: Exemption of One Supplemental Program Manager Position for the Homelessness\nStrategies and Solutions Department from the Classified Service.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\nThe projected annual salary for this position is approximately $150,174. The Department\nplans to hire for this position in the last quarter of FY 2024, thus the salary and fringe\ncosts will be absorbed as part of the Department’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget through\nprojected vacancy and non-personnel expenditure savings. Following approval as a\nsupplemental position, the Department will request this position as an FY 2025 budget\nadjustment position addition during the May Revise period.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: Citywide.\nProposed Actions:\n(O-2024-59)\nIntroduction of an Ordinance authorizing the exemption of a Program Manager position in\nthe City's Homelessness Strategies and Solutions Department from the Classified Service,\nbased on advisory review and favorable comment by the Civil Service Commission on\nDecember 7, 2023. This position will be responsible for the prevention and placement of\nunsheltered individuals into affordable housing, work collaboratively with government\nagencies and the private sector to determine ways to prevent individuals from becoming\nhomeless, and other related duties.
