9H. ACCEPTANCE OF THE CERRITOS AVENUE RESURFACING PROJECT BY THE\nCITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON, CALIFORNIA\nThe Cerritos Avenue Resurfacing Project consisting of the demolition and removals,\nroadway modifications, concrete work (ramps and sidewalks), asphalt pavement, signing\nand striping, and all appurtenant work for Cerritos Avenue between Knott Avenue and\nBeach Boulevard is now complete. The final construction cost for the project is under the\nawarded contract amount. The City Engineer, in his judgment, certifies that the work was\nsatisfactorily completed as of March 7, 2024 and recommends that the City Council\naccept the completed work performed on this project.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council declare this project categorically exempt under the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act, Class 1, and 15301(c) as repair, maintenance, and minor\nalteration of existing public structures; and\n2. Accept the completion of improvements for the Cerritos Avenue Resurfacing Project,\nas certified by the City Engineer, and affix the date of March 7, 2024 as the date of\ncompletion of all work on this project; and\n3. Approve the final construction contract amount of $850,135.27 with Hardy & Harper,\nInc.; and\n4. Direct the City Clerk within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance to file the Notice\nof Completion (Attachment) with the County Clerk-Recorder of the County of Orange;\nand\n5. Direct City staff, after thirty-five (35) days has elapsed from the filing of the “Notice of\nCompletion” with the County Clerk-Recorder, to make the retention payment to Hardy\n& Harper, Inc. in the amount of $42,056.76.
