6.C. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES FOR COMMERCIAL OVENS [J.\nERICKSON, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, M. WATSON]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider directing staff and the City\nAttorney’s office to evaluate a potential new requirement to install\nemission control devices on commercial ovens. The evaluation will include\nan analysis of existing local and state laws, current regulatory\nrequirements, and the extent to which emission control devices would\ncontrol pollutants.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff and the City Attorney to evaluate a\npotential requirement to install emission control devices on commercial\novens to determine if the City can establish such a requirement for new\nand/or substantially remodeled businesses and phase in the requirement\nfor existing businesses over time; and 2) Present the findings and\nrecommendations to the City Council for further consideration.
