8. RESOLUTION NO. 24-18 - CONSIDERATION OF DELEGATION OF CLAIM DENIALS TO THE CITY'S\nINSURANCE AUTHORITY\nStaff recommends City Council:\na. direct staff to continue utilizing the current claims administrative process; or\nb. adopt Resolution No. 24-18, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK,\nCALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A POLICY WHICH DELEGATES TORT LIABILITY CLAIMS HANDLING\nRESPONSIBILITIES TO THE CALIFORNIA JOINT POWERS INSURANCE AUTHORITY AS\nAUTHORIZED BY GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 910, ET SEQ. 830\nORAL COMMUNICATIONS\nOLD BUSINESS – NONE\nREGULAR BUSINESS\n5. AQUATIC CENTER IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 1B – PROJECT UPDATE (PUBLIC\nWORKS)\nApril 2, 2024: City Council Meeting Page 4 of 7\nRECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council:\n1) Receive and file the project update report/presentation for the project; and\n2) Provide direction to staff relating to project features, design features and color\nschemes to be included in the final design of the Aquatic Center Improvements\nProject (Phase 1B); and\n3) Authorize the City Engineer to issue a Task Order to Southstar Engineering for\nProject Management Services in the Amount of $125,000 for the subject project;\nand\n4) Take such additional, related action that may be desirable.\nCONSENT CALENDAR\nAll matters listed under the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine. Any items a\nCouncilmember wishes to discuss should be designated at this time. All other items may\nbe approved in a single motion. Such approval will also waive the reading of any Ordinance.\nHOUSING SUCCESSOR\n6.
