STAFF AND ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO DEVELOP A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS FOR SAN CLEMENTE MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE PRO SHOP
SERVICES, INCLUDING MODIFICATION OF THE REVENUE-SHARING
MODEL FOR PRO SHOP AND STARTER OPERATIONS, AND FINDING THE
ACTION EXEMPT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT
Staff Recommendation
Adopt Resolution No. 26-05, which will:
1. Find the action categorically exempt from the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) under Title 14, Section 15301 (Class 1 - Existing
Facilities), and Section 15323 (Class 23 - Normal Operations of Facilities for
Public Gatherings).
2. Create a Golf Course RFP Task Force consisting of the City Council liaison
to the Golf Course, the City Manager, the Director of Beaches, Parks and
Recreation, and the Chair of the Golf Course Committee to develop an RFP
for Golf Course daily operations (with the exception of maintenance) that is
similar to the current model but with a modified revenue sharing system that
allows additional revenue generation at the Golf Course.
3. Direct staff to prepare and administer the RFP for Golf Course operations
based on direction from the Golf Course RFP Task Force and return to City
Council with a recommendation based on an evaluation of the proposals
received.
