26. CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTION OF A BLOCK PARTY PERMIT PROGRAM POLICY AND APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF TWO CITY-OWNED BARRICADE EQUIPMENT SETS Recommendation It is recommended that City Council: 1. Adopt the proposed Block Party Permit Program Policy establishing a formal, City administered process for permitting neighborhood block parties; 2. Approve the purchase of two (2) City-owned barricade equipment sets at an estimated cost of $8,000 to launch the program; and 3. Authorize City staff to add additional barricade equipment sets in future budget cycles, through the annual budget appropriation process, as program demand and available funding support expansion.
