BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the
donation of a surplus 1995 GMC 2500 pickup truck to the Los Angeles
Fire Department (LAFD) Historical Society.
Recommendations for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Lee -
Park):
1. FIND that the LAFD Historical Society is eligible to purchase
one 1995 GMC 2500 pickup truck (Vehicle Identification
Number 1GTGC24K7SE527603), as listed in the Motion, at
below market value ($1.00), in accordance with Los Angeles
Administrative Code Section 22.547 (Donation of Surplus City
Equipment), as the recipient is a non-profit organization located
in the City of Los Angeles where the donation will benefit the
residents of the City of Los Angeles.
2. REQUEST the City Attorney to prepare a contract to effectuate
the sale and transfer of the surplus equipment identified above
at below market value to the LAFD Historical Society.
3. INSTRUCT the City Clerk to inform the LAFD Historical
Society [James R. Finn, President, 1355 North Cahuenga
Boulevard, Hollywood, California 90028, (323) 464-2727]
that the surplus equipment must be claimed within 90 days
from the date of Council approval of the request or from the
notification of equipment availability, whichever occurs
later, after which time it will revert to the City’s surplus
equipment pool for disposal by the General Services
Department.
Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor
the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this
report.
