58. Fiscal Year 2026-27 Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program Agreement Recommendation: Authorize the Chief Medical Examiner to accept the Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program (CTFGP) 2026-28 grant award in an amount not to exceed $297,400 for the period of July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028. Authorize the Chief Medical Examiner to execute, submit, and administer all documents required by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) CTFGP, including agreements, amendments, extensions, certifications, reports, and reimbursement requests, necessary to implement the grant program provided that such actions do not materially alter the scope of the grant or increase Net County Cost (NCC). Authorize the Chief Medical Examiner to apply for future CHP CTFGP funding opportunities, and upon notification to the Board and Chief Executive Office, accept and execute future grant awards and associated documents, including applications, agreements, amendments, extensions, and reimbursement requests, provided that: no additional NCC is required; and the grant funded activities are substantially similar to those described herein. Approve an appropriation adjustment to increase the Department of Medical Examiner’s operating budget by $298,000, offset with grant revenue from the CHP for the CTFGP.
