(3) 25-1428-S1 Motion (Park - Nazarian) relative to instructing the: 1) Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA) and the City Administrative Officer (CAO), with assistance from the City Attorney, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), and the Department of Building and Safety (DBS), to report on variables and adoption deadlines for the City’s Zone 0 policy prior to drafting an implementation ordinance; 2) CLA and CAO, with assistance from the City Attorney, LAFD, and DBS, to report with an analysis of current City codes and regulations applicable to landscaping and structures in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone; 3) CLA and CAO, with the assistance of the Community Forest Advisory Committee (CFAC), to report on the estimated cost of compliance for property owners across the City Los Angeles; 4) CAO and CLA, with the assistance of the General Services Department, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles Zoo, and Department of Recreation and Parks, to report on the estimated cost of compliance for City-owned properties; 5) CLA and CAO, with assistance from the Department of City Planning’s Office of Historic Resources, DBS, and LAFD, to report on exemption policy recommendations for historically and culturally significant structures or gardens with adequate fire suppression systems; and 6) CAO and CLA, with the assistance of CFAC, LAFD, and DBS, to report on the anticipated cost of outreach and enforcement necessary for successful implementation; and related matters.
